It can feel impossible to get a job interview, even for the most qualified and experienced individuals. The job market we’re facing today is undoubtedly the worst I’ve seen in my career, even worse than the 2008 recession. The reason for this is the sheer volume of college-educated people actively seeking employment. Don’t let the reported unemployment rate fool . This figure doesn’t account for the vast number of individuals who are underemployed, working in gig jobs or part-time positions, or simply not included in the official statistics.

The result of this influx of job seekers is a gridlock in the traditional online application process. I recently spoke with someone who shared that they had received 3,000 applications for a single job posting within just 48 hours. This overwhelming response has rendered the “easy apply” button virtually useless, as companies struggle to sift through the sheer volume of applicants.

The Solution: Mastering the Art of Back-Channeling

If applying online is no longer a viable path to securing job interviews, what’s the solution?
