UCHealth has an excellent opportunity for a PRN Physician Assistantor Nurse Practitioner to join our UCHealth Urgent Care Clinic – Castle Rock.

REQUIRED:

* One year of experience workingwith pediatric and adult patients as an advanced practice provider in an UrgentCare or Emergency Room.
* Availabilityto work 2 weekend days and 2 weekdays per month is required.
* Family Nurse Practitioner candidates must have full prescriptiveauthority to be considered for this position.
* New graduates will not be considered for this position.

The pay range for this positionis $50.86-$71.70/ hour. Pay is dependent on the applicant’s relevant experience.

Responsibilities

* Obtains patient history and performsassessment via observation, interview, and examination.
* Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
* Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions viaprescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or communityresources.
* Provides counseling and education of patients and theirfamilies/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options andcommunity resources.
* Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations andcare.

Requirementsfor Physician Assistants.

* Master’s Degree in PhysicianAssistant Studies
* Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in theState of Colorado.
* Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) issued by the NationalCommission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required forhire and must be maintained throughout employment
* Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribeall medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
* Eligible to provide reimbursable services and maintain provider statuswith Medicare and Medicaid.
* Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusion from eitherthe Health and Human Services/Office of Inspectors General (HHS/OIG) or theGeneral Services Administration’s (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from FederalPrograms.
* Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practiceprivileges.
* Prescriptive authority as appropriate, per medical staff serviceprivileging process.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American HeartAssociation or the American Red Cross

Requirementsfor Nurse Practitioners

* Master’s degree in Nursing andgraduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
* Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by the American NursesCredentialing Center (ANCC) or Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by theAmerican Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) isrequired for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
* Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State Board ofNursing in the state of practice or compact privileges under the multi-stateNurse Licensure Compact agreement
* Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practiceprivileges
* Full prescriptive authority
* Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribeall medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
