LinkedIn Rollouts (5 🌊 ⤨ ⏳ ↑)
NEW LinkedIn Feature Rollouts usually follow a standard 5 🌊 Waves: ⤨ Randomized, ⏳Timed, & ↑ Increasing in Size, so that LinkedIn can evaluate, adjust, sometimes eliminate, and ultimately to reduce any negative impact, unpredicted loads or code collisions that might blow up the platform.
Historically, a clean rollout takes ~30 to 90 Days to complete but over the last few of years we have had rollouts that have taken over a year to complete, some never complete, and the feature is removed.

▲ [Top of Feed Pills] are preselected (filters) designed to give users more control over the content they see in their main feed, currently being tested in the US to a limited Beta Group and may include:
- Following: will show content exclusively from your connections, people and pages you follow, and advertisers. This helps you focus on updates from your professional network and the brands you care about
- News: displays top professional news headlines and perspectives, curated by LinkedIn’s editorial team. This mode is intended to keep you updated on trending business and industry news, all selected for relevance to professionals
This appears to be an evolution of the (My Network) Feed Tab Beta Test that launched 02.21.2025 The preview of the Help definition uses the Feed Tab name above and the new beta uses the same page.
Also being A/B tested during this Beta test is the ability to toggle the option to [Sort by ▼ Top or Recent] posts at the top of our Feed. Some will have this option at the top of their Feed and others will need to make that selection in Settings.

💀 RIP [Website link], a feature that allows a blue custom link to be displayed within the Top card of our profiles, is being removed as an ongoing option.
⚠️ If you have already created and saved your Website link, it will remain for now. However, if you try to edit it, the option to save it to your Profile will not be available. Leave it Alone = Keep, Try to Edit = Loose.
If you want a Website link, try setting it up immediately. Click ✎ on the Top card, scroll to the bottom of the edit pop-up menu, and click on the Website button. If you do not see the Custom button, it’s too late to implement.

▲ [Two-step verification] for unrecognized devices is now required. A pop-up informs the Member to set up this secure gateway to avoid being locked out of their account.
My inside sources say that this implementation is due to the proliferation of influencer members allowing others to log into their accounts, using their credentials, to manage their Activity. This gives the influencer insight and control over who is logged into their account, providing them with a gateway to exclusive security code access. By removing any old active sessions, the [in]fluencer can then establish a controlled and revokable gateway without having to change passwords.

▲ [Daily commenting restriction] pop-up added to keep LinkedIn safe and professional, [in] may limit the number of comments a member or a Company page can make in a given period. This limit on the number of comments is unrelated to the moderation of individual comments based on the professional conduct policy.
These restrictions were implemented over 10 years ago, but no pop-up warning was provided; you could no longer comment, and that usually led to help requests.
I experienced this limit back in 2018, when I reached 1,100 comments in one day, mostly responding to other comments on my post.

🧨 Glitch corrected [Add media] in Messaging is not allowing us to share uploaded GIFs within our message (only through the preselected [in] GIF feature). Try to attach a GIF, see it load, and then notice it is converted to a JPG. More than likely this issue may be because GIFs, like Fancy Font (Unicode) can be used for nefarious things like tracking, code transfer and data export.
The built in GIF feature on Messages doesn’t show up on all Messages as an option. Can’t find the common denominator yet. See 2nd GIF below.

▲ [About] summaries blocking the use of Fancy Fonts & auto-converting prior uploaded Fancy Fonts into standard platform fonts.
Similar to Fancy Fonts being blocked from Headlines on 1.25.2025
My opinion why: Not only are Fancy fonts not indexable by search engines, including [in]’s own internal search & ranking assets, they pose several security risks:
► Malicious Font Files: Fonts can be used to spread malware, viruses, or Trojan horses. When you download & install a font, you may inadvertently introduce malware into your system.
► Cross-Site Scripting (XSS): Some font generators may inject malicious scripts into your website, allowing attackers to steal sensitive information or take control of your website.
► Font Rendering Engine Vulnerabilities: Font rendering engines can be susceptible to hacking, allowing attackers to exploit vulnerabilities & gain access to your system.
► Data Leaks: When you use external font resources, your visitors may leak information to the third-party host as their browsers request the resources in the background, posing privacy concerns.
If you ever wondered why anyone would go to the expense to create & maintain a Fancy Font generator for free or included as part of an app, think about the above.
How well do you really know that architect & what they want to accomplish?
Where else will [in] ban Fancy Fonts and are they actively suppressing those who use them?
If you use Fancy Fonts, you might ask yourself has my [in] presence decreased?

✰ [Verified on LinkedIn] can now be displayed on other sites.
Originally launched in April 2023, initially as a free verification system that allows users to confirm their identity, workplace, or education, using government-issued IDs, work email addresses, or third-party services such as CLEAR, or Microsoft Entra. LinkedIn users that verify their identities get a badge added to their profile page, showing other platform users that the person is authentic. A year later, the company expanded this feature to include recruiter verification, as well, to combat job-related scams. Verified recruiters receive a checkmark badge on their profiles, as well.
⚠️ No information available on what might be shared with and back from the other platform about us, our certification or addition marketing data.
You may request it for your Platform or Give Feedback.

https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/ask/VERIFIED_REQUEST
I was contacted about this from Perplexity back on Mar 26, 2025.
Asked both Perplexity and LinkedIn for details and only Perplexity Responded and here is what they said:
The partnership between Perplexity and LinkedIn is designed to enhance authenticity and trust by allowing users to add their LinkedIn verification information to their Perplexity profiles. This integration aims to create more meaningful interactions on the Perplexity platform.
Key Points About the Partnership
- Purpose: The partnership is intended to increase trust and authenticity by linking verified LinkedIn profiles with Perplexity accounts. This can help users verify identities and build credibility within the Perplexity community.
- Impact on Users: For users, this means that their LinkedIn verification can be used to enhance their Perplexity profile, potentially increasing their visibility and credibility. However, it may also raise privacy concerns, as users are sharing personal verification data across platforms.
- Involvement at LinkedIn: While specific individuals involved at LinkedIn are not mentioned in the available information, Jessica Chan, who previously worked on LinkedIn’s content partner programs, is now Perplexity’s head of publisher partnerships7. This suggests a level of familiarity and expertise in building partnerships.
Verification with LinkedIn
To verify this partnership with LinkedIn, you can look for official announcements or press releases from either company. However, as of now, there is no direct link or statement from LinkedIn confirming this specific aspect of the partnership. You might need to contact LinkedIn’s support or check their official blog for updates.
Additional Context
- Perplexity and LinkedIn Collaboration: Perplexity and LinkedIn have been working together in various capacities, including offering Perplexity Pro to LinkedIn Premium users4. This suggests a broader collaboration aimed at enhancing user experiences across both platforms.
- Data Sharing: The integration involves sharing verification data, which could raise privacy concerns. Users should be aware of how their data is used and shared between platforms.
In summary, while the partnership aims to enhance trust and authenticity, users should be mindful of data privacy implications and seek official confirmation from both companies for specific details.

▲ [Download your data] updated.
(Want something particular?) is now missing Connections & Messages but still offers a quick download of Articles, Invitations, Recommendations, Imported Contacts, Profile & Registration.
The tradeoff of not being able to do a quick download of Contacts & Connections is the ability to have a Basic download within 10 Minutes (which contains Contacts & Connections and use to take up to 24 hours)
The Full download is now within 24 hours (as opposed the past which was within 48 hours).
This morning I tested it and got my Basic Download within 5 Minutes that includes all files in the first column of the attachment below and my 2nd download was available within 19 hours. That seems much more efficient for both sides of the equation.
Confirmed, Shares, which has been haphazardly missing in downloads for a few months now, are included in the 2nd download of the Full request (as defined in the Help page, updated 4 days ago).
With the speed of this download, I’m surprised [in] is even allowing a ‘Select the data files you’re most interested in: Articles, Imported Contacts, Invitations, Profile, Recommendations & Registration’.

▲ (Jobs) tab added to Messaging. If you see the (Jobs) tab in your messages top nav line, then you have the ability to assign a message to that tab making it easier for #JobSeekers to organize these opportunities.
When you are in that message, click the (…) more icon and select from the dropdown (Label as Jobs). Then click the (Jobs) tab and you’ll see that message there. Revers the steps to remove it from the (Jobs) tab and put it back in your Messages flow.
What other (Tabs) would you like to see?

🧨 SSI (Social Selling Index) a tool designed to up-sale Members into purchasing SN (Sales Navigator) glitches out and drops the the overall scores almost in half for many who are performing well in the 1st (establish your brand) and 4th (Build relationships) measurements, the two catagories you can max out without having to pay for SN. It appeared that all (Build relationships) dropped to 7.5 and (establish your brand) dropped almost in half.

▲ [Top Voice], AKA the Blue [in] Badge, once an Annually Awarded status, is now Bi-Annually assessed every 6 months.
Once a member is invited to the Top Voices program, they will remain a Top Voice for at least six months, and are eligible for badge renewal as long as they continue to meet the core program requirements. LinkedIn may add and remove members outside of the typical admission periods at its discretion, and will remove Top Voice status from any member who does not consistently meet LinkedIn’s Professional Community Policies.
LinkedIn Top Voices are a select group of global experts, leaders, change-makers, public figures and innovators on LinkedIn. The program is designed to recognize members who consistently demonstrate expertise and leadership in their respective fields in ways that educate, inspire and inform the larger community. Active members of the Top Voices program receive a blue badge on their profile identifying them as an expert on the platform.

▲ Fancy Fonts blocked from being added to Profile [Headline]s. My opinion why:Not only are Fancy fonts not indexable by search engines, including [in]’s own internal search & ranking assets, they pose several security risks:

✰ (Profile appearances) added to the Analytics page and refer to the instances where your name and headline appear across LinkedIn. This can happen in various places such as your feed post, comments or when you appear in Search results. The more frequently your profile appears, the higher your visibility. More visibility can lead to more opportunities, as it means there are more places for people to see/discover you on the platform.
This metric will be further broken down into (All appearances) and (Search appearances) each with their own number with a corresponding▲ or ▼ % past 7 days.
(Profile views) on the other hand, indicate the number of times someone has visited your profile. This helps you understand who is taking a deeper interest in your professional background, skills, and experiences. The Who’s viewed your profile page displays your recent profile visitors (subject to their settings). This feature is available to all members, but only Premium members can unlock the full list of viewers.
