The 7-38-55 rule is the “secret combination to interview success”. It refers to the three elements of communication in a job interview.
The elements are:
- Body language accounts for 55 percent of the communication. Maintaining good posture can project confidence, which strengthens voice and tone.
- Voice and tone account for 38 percent of the communication.
- The content of your answer only accounts for 7 percent of the communication.
Most people are too frightened to use body language and tone in an interview, causing the interviewer to only hear the content, which is only 7 percent of the answer. This rule is backed by science, and more information can be found on the internet.
