Ever sit there and listen to a prideful person talk?
They usually talk only about themselves, they generally do not care about your opinion, because after all, in their mind, they know better than you.
Sometimes, even Pastors can become prideful. It’s so off-putting, like nails on a chalkboard and if you try to tell them they’re being prideful, they won’t listen. Why would they? They know everything, right?!
Being prideful does NOTHING for the gospel. It DEtracts those we are called on to love and serve and while being prideful may make a person feel good momentarily, if the only way you can feel good about yourself is by ignoring and pushing down everyone else around you, honestly, pride is not your biggest problem!
It’s sick and disgusting and God hates it (Proverbs 6:16-19, Proverbs 16:5).
So how do we make sure we never become prideful?
By continuing to wash our minds in the Word of God.
Comparing ourselves with GOD, the TRUE standard and not other fallen sinners will keep you humble.
Let’s look at more of what the Bible says in these 30 Bible verses about humility.
