3 Tips For Hosting The Perfect Summer BBQ – MiddleMe

With summer on the way, it’s time to start thinking about all of the BBQs you’ll be hosting in these enjoyable summer months. Especially if you have an outdoor kitchen, you’re likely going to be hosting all kinds of summer BBQs for your family and friends. So to help make sure that these events go off without a hitch, here are three tips for hosting the perfect summer BBQ.

Get Everything Ready Before Your Guests Arrive

When you’re planning on having people over, it’s best to do as much work before your guests arrive as you possibly can. With a BBQ, this means doing as much of the cooking and food preparation as you’re able to so that when people arrive, you can get to eating as soon as your guests get hungry.

As part of your preparation, you’ll want to spend some time cleaning off your grill and any other outdoor cooking appliances that you plan to use. The last thing you want your guests to see is how dirty these appliances got while being outside. You’ll also want to cut up any meat or vegetables that you plan to serve your guests so that you don’t have to worry about this when you’re trying to host. Then, with your grill and other outdoor cooking spaces clean, you can start warming the grills and getting them to the right temperature so that they’re ready to start cooking food as soon as your guests arrive.

Set The Right Atmosphere

During a BBQ, most of your guests will likely spend the majority of their time outside in your backyard space. Knowing this, you’re going to want to make sure that you set the right atmosphere out here.

To help you set the mood outside around your BBQ and outdoor kitchen, you’ll want to do things like stringing up lights so that everyone can see what they’re doing and what they’re eating, putting on some music that people can sing along to, making efforts to keep any bugs away from the sitting and eating areas, and helping people stay a comfortable temperature with things like misters or outdoor heaters.

Provide Some Entertainment

While your guests are waiting for the food to be ready or in between eating the main course and dessert, you’ll want to have some sort of entertainment for them to enjoy while in your backyard.

If you have the space, you could do something like set up a dance floor, put in a pool, or lay a basketball or pickleball court for people to interact with. You could also do smaller forms of entertainment, like yard games or even just a seating area around a firepit so that your guests can chat and enjoy themselves.

If you want to host the perfect BBQs this summer, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you make this happen.
